However, in order to experience how it works, the decision to install solar panels must be made. People often struggle with choosing whether or not they should convert to solar energy; that's why we've compiled a list of the pros and cons of installing solar panels on your home:

PROS:

Unlimited Supply: Since solar panels extract their energy from the sun, energy will always be available. And some more good news? There is no limit to how much you can use!

Quiet: Unlike wind turbines, solar energy is essentially soundless. If you're looking for some peace and quiet, solar panels are definitely something to consider.

No Space Necessary: Solar panels are installed on your roof, and therefore don't take up any extra space within your home. Keep in mind, though, that not all roofs may be compatible. If this happens, try shared solar panels, which allow you obtain solar energy from a community panel.

CONS:

Initial Cost: On average, it costs around $30,000 to install solar panels on your home. While it is financially wise in the long run, it could take 15 or more years to begin to experience the effects.

Fluctuation: Since solar energy relies on the sun, you may find yourself stuck in the dark at night. Don't forget that the weather can affect your panel's productivity, so you may find yourself paying for alternative energy sources in addition to the initial start up costs.

Pollution: Although solar energy doesn't produce pollution on its own, any existing pollution can impede on the solar panels' ability to work correctly. If you're located in an area with an abundance of pollution, you will probably require a backup energy source as well.

So, do the pros outweigh the cons? Well, that's up to you!
